Falco's Spokane

8.0

Falco's Spokane is a well-established local business offering a range of services, primarily focused on HVAC installations and maintenance. For many years, they've been a go-to source for homeowners seeking fireplace service and related components. While previously recognized for their nursery, their expertise now centers around ensuring efficient and safe heating systems.

Recent experiences suggest a need for improved quality control in their preventative maintenance procedures. There appears to be a disconnect between expected results and actual outcomes, impacting the customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of installed systems. Addressing this is crucial to maintaining their reputation and delivering reliable service.

I have been having soot on my siding for the last few years from the gas fireplace Falco's installed for me. I took pictures a couple years ago and sent them to the service manager. He told me that was the way it was suppose to be. I have cleaned the siding myself or hired someone to power wash it for me. I I have it serviced by Falco's. I did the Preventive maintenance Oct. 23, 2024, just like I have in the past. After the Preventive Maintenance this year the soot was the worst I have eve seen . This year I took pictures and sent them to "Frost Fire Service" and asked if that was normal. He replied immediately and and said absolutely not. I made an appointment for him to come to my home. In fact I showed those pictures to my 101 year old dad and he took one look at it and said "Incomplete combustion". The owner of Frost Fire Service said, "your dad is right." He took my fireplace apart and showed me several things they missed or were doing wrong in their Preventive maintenance. Among other things: This is from Frost Fire's Annual Service and Cleaning: REPAIRED ELECTRODE SPARK CABLE END GASKET ON BOTTOM OF BURNER AT VENTURI TUBE, ADJUSTED MANIFOLD PRESURE AS IT WAS TO HIGH AT 4.9-IN WATER COLUMN, AND PROPERLY POSITIONED He also noted Because they did not use "BEST BUILDING PRACTICES WOULD HAVE HAD THIS TERMINAL CAP INSTALLED 24-IN BELOW THE VINYL SOFFIT INSTEAD OF 18-IN ESPECIALLY SEEING HOW THE NEAREST VENTILATION SOURCE IS 28-IN FROM CENTER OF CAP. He also suggested' "A VINYL SIDING STANDOFF ON THE EXHAUST TERMINAL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED". since it wasn't installed properly to begin with. I once more took pictures and the invoice with everything explained to FALCO's. I just wanted them to remove the soot this year because it was so bad and the tech caused problem.. Without looking at all the pictures I had or even coming to my home to look at it the service manager said it wasn't their responsibility. He said I should have called sooner. I clean the siding every year so there was nothing to see until after the stove was started and it accumulated like it did every year. The only time I am out where the soot is it is when I put my AC cover on in the fall and take it off in the spring. I turn off the gas fireplace every spring and have them service and start it in the fall In fact right after the service was done by them I called thinking the flame was too high. They emphasized it was done properly and if the service man came back there would be another service charge. I cancelled the appointment I made to have him come back because their answer is always "that's the way it is suppose to be and it was done right." Didn't need another $200.00+ service call. I notice a lot of other people have the same reaction from Falco's. All I was asking from Falcos was for them to clean the soot mess their tech created. I didn't want anything else. . i just want them to send someone out to clean my siding and soffit. There was a silver ling to this mess. I found Ryan the owner of "Frost Fire Service" that cares about the customer and does a thorough job for Preventive maintenance. I watched him just as I have watched Falco's tech. They were in and out and checked boxes they did things they didn't. I was a loyal customer for over 30 years with Falco's. We loved their nursery and they installed a free standing gas fireplace for us before. We got parts from them "thermo something". The pictures show all the soot on the side of the house and soffit, the soot on the windows of the fireplace that accumulated in just 6 months. It shows debris that shouldn't be there. burn from gasket that needed replace that should have been noticed. How the logs were placed by Falco and how they should of been place to avoid covering up "air holes?"

Falco's sales representative, Josh Alfrey, is outstanding to work with. We went into the showroom thinking we wanted a specific gas fireplace we had seen online, and Josh answered all of our questions while also showing us other models. He spent a great deal of time letting us pick his brain, and we ended up going with an entirely different brand and model, and we couldn't be happier. He is prompt, professional, and worked quickly with our contractor answering same-day emails and putting things together. Definitely ask for Josh if you head in there.

We recently had two 20-year-old fireplaces serviced by Falco’s and the whole experience was excellent. From the first phone call to the in-home service, every employee was polite and professional. Sebastian did an incredible job. Our fireplaces look new again! He went above and beyond by adjusting some wiring and fixing a small thermostat issue. He also gave us honest, helpful suggestions for maintaining our units. I would highly recommend Falco’s for fireplace service. You’ll be in good hands.

We noticed, shortly after we moved into our home in Twin Bridges, a gas leak. It was determined by the Avista technician to be coming from our fireplace. A close friend recommended Falco's. Scheduling the appointment was very easy and the wait time was very acceptable. The day of the appointment our technician, Joel, arrived in timely manner. He was very cordial and professional. His approach to the problem was exceptionally thorough and he was clear with us as to the problem including an additional cost which would have been impossible to have diagnosed without doing the diagnostic approach he employed. The scheduling coordinator was very clear as to the likely cost for this type of call but noted the final cost would be determined by the solution cost as determined at this visit. Every step including the first contact was absolutely top notch! Not only was the problem rectified but an additional issue which was ascertained by Joel's thorough approach was fixed at this appointment. We have already put on our schedule another service appointment reminder for next year. If you need servicing for your fireplace (ours is gas) I would strongly advise you to look no further than Falco's. If a service appointment for an appliance, in addition to being thorough, was also rated for cordiality and professionalism Falco's and Joel would be 5 star! Mt only disappointment was that I couldn't rate them higher! Absolutely terrific service! Dr. Scott Williams

Very professional company!!! I can’t express enough how great it was working with Josh our sales rep and our installers, Kevin, TJ, Nathan and James! Our original brick fireplace was built in 1957. This caused us to have a unique angled shape to our firebox that required a custom made metal plate to enclose our new gas insert. Our installers took detailed measurements and the company had a custom surround built. I am overwhelmed with the result!!! We have a stunning gas fireplace now!! Josh was so professional and was quick to answer emails and he was so helpful in keeping me updated on our purchase. I was also pleased with the timeline for installation. Even the projected Thanksgiving install date for the custom surround was moved up by a month and a half!!! The insert was installed in September and the metal work 2 weeks later. Again, such a great company of professionals!! Thank you Falco’s Spokane!!

Several years ago, we purchased a new insert for our living room fireplace. Loved it the first year. Had an appointment to have it serviced, and I noted that one of the bulbs in the base lighting under the glass was burned out. The "technician" said it was a hassle and "way too expensive" to change the bulb. He suggested I just leave the base lighting off and he’d look at it the next year. I conceded. Then last year, the same "technician" came to service the fireplace. I noted the light bulb once again, and he said he didn’t have time, and it would be too expensive. Additionally, when everything was done with the service, the flame was only on the left side. Fast-forward to yesterday….dreaded the service visit. BUT…Collin showed up (not the technician from the previous two years) I was delighted!! I explained what had happened previously. Collin did a fantastic job servicing the fireplace yesterday. HE told me that there were a couple of bulbs out. I explained that they’ve been out for two years. He quickly took it apart and replaced the bulbs, adjusted the flame, shrugged his shoulders and said "no big deal"! He was very apologetic for something that is clearly not his fault. But, his professionalism and customer service far far outweigh the previous two years. This morning I’m looking at a fireplace that looks like new! Thank you, thank you thank you to COLLIN! My faith in Falco has been restored!

Our AC began to give us issues, so we reached out to Falco’s. Brandon and Mitch were dispatched in a timely manner to evaluate our system. Grant worked tirelessly to get us the best quote possible, and the correct unit for the size of our home. We agreed on a new system and they were back in a week to get our unit installed and running."just in time". Mitch and Deakin the technicians are awesome. They explained everything they were doing the entire day. Loved having them in our home , they are very professional and diligent in their work. By the end of the day our house was cool again. We couldn’t be more pleased. Very happy with the decision to use Falco’s!! Great experience! Thanks very much Tina and Allan Simpson Liberty Lake
