My company hired A/C "masters" to come service our large industrial sized R22 unit when it cut out on us during the hottest week in July. The tech explained they needed to order parts for our unit, which is understandable due to the age of the unit and how difficult it can be to source parts for an R22 unit. After waiting for a few days and getting no communication, I reached out asking for an update and was told that the parts should be there by Friday and that they’d come out on that following Monday around 2pm. At 3pm on Monday when no one had shown up or attempted to contact us I called them again and was then told by the same tech that they’d be there that Tuesday by 11am. They did show up as promised the next day but the guys who came out made the mistake of actually replacing the broken fan for our NEIGHBORS UNIT first, so then they had to go get another condenser fan so that they could actually fix the unit we hired them to work on. They must’ve ordered spare parts for the older units because they were able to get the replacement capacitor, contractor, and fan that same day about an hour later. They then made sure the unit was functioning and left, and our a/c worked properly for about a week. It was brought to my attention that we had a small roof leak which I went up on the roof of our building to patch the following day after our a/c was fixed. I’ve attached the photo I took of the safe that our unit was left in after the repair. There are four wires that have been taped together with electrical tape hanging out of the top of our unit, and they also just decided not to put about twelve screws back into our panels and just left them on the edges of the unit and strewn around the rooftop around the unit. When my boss called them to get out there and check it out they gave my assistant manager some BS about that being a "switch" for switching the direction of the fan blades??? And that it was perfectly fine to leave it like that and refused to go up there to fix it. Now here we are exactly one week from the day that they were last here and my unit is now back to being non-operational again. When I called this evening at around 8pm the woman I spoke too who dispatches the techs (who was incredibly kind, and has been as helpful every time I’ve called, that is one positive I scan say.) she told me that she’s pass my number along to the on call tech and they’d give me a call back. I didn’t expect to get a call back, and low and behold, that call back never happened. I’m going to do my due diligence and call these guys again in the morning because this $1,600 job that we got billed for isn’t done yet. We just want our a/c unit fixed properly and I am afraid we might have made a huge mistake by asking this company to come do any kind of work for us. It’s my suggestion that if you need your hvac system worked on, you call literally any other company other than this one. I still can’t believe that they fixed the wrong unit at first, and they weren’t even going to tell us that they made that mistake at first! I had to hear about it from the owner of the business next to ours in the same shopping center…. I don’t trust any repairs these guys say they’ve done, and if you have to hire them do yourself a huge favor and check behind their work!

they sent out a service person to repair some equipment. The owners brother is what I was told.. lol lol what a joke, he came out 4 different times and fixed nothing. no knowledge at all just talk, talk, talk, and more talk. I just wanted our units fixed.. And billed use for nothing. Please don't step foot on the property. Don;t call them...I called another company and we where up and running in 2 hours..

We had a leak coming from the bottom of our air handler, so I called A/C Masters — a company we had used before and trusted — to come out to our home in Newport News on June 13. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. While the technician who came was knowledgeable and professional, the issue lies in how the company conducts business, which ultimately left me $174 out of pocket for a service that didn’t resolve the problem. After diagnosing the issue, the technician said the P-trap was clogged and vacuumed the drain line. She said water appeared to be draining properly and noted that some light dripping might continue due to wet insulation — but we were relieved that the problem seemed resolved. Just a few hours later, the leak returned — same spot, same amount. When I called the company the next day, I was told the line might still be clogged and that they could come back out, but I’d be charged another $85 labor fee — even though the first visit didn’t resolve the issue. I also learned their advertised "30-day guarantee" only waives the $89 diagnostic fee, not the labor, even for the exact same unresolved problem. After doing my own research, I realized that since they already knew the drain line was underground and made of metal, a quick vacuum was unlikely to solve the problem long-term especially because we don't have a condensation pump. It made me question and feel like they were just trying to get me to spend more money piece by piece. I tried speaking with the manager, Robert, before leaving a review to resolve the issue but was told it’s simply "company policy" to charge a labor cost again. I won’t be using A/C Masters in the future, and I would caution others to seek a company that stands behind their work and prioritizes fixing the problem the first time — not charging again for unresolved issues.

I was referred to A/C Masters via the purchase of my home. I called to understand the service and warranty and was able to make an appointment for a check up on my home unit. Everyone was helpful and explained things in detail. The service tech who checked my system explained the unit and conferred with me about some of the home purchase inspection issues. I am also happy that I asked if, at all possible, the same service tech is scheduled for the residence.

I had a great experience with Allen when he came to repair my HVAC system. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the reversing valve, and the whole process was efficient and stress-free. Allen was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly knew what he was doing. He got the job done without any hassle, and I really appreciated his professionalism. Highly recommend him if you need HVAC work done!

I rarely make reviews but let’s just say I called them on the weekend for our rental house and received a call back immediately and they were there so fast. It wasn’t even an hvac issue. Ended up being an electrical issue but tech called me, took photos and let me know what was needed next. They’ve done hvac work for us previously and do great work. Highly professional and highly recommend. Thanks AC Masters
