My broker Parker Nelson with Radix put me in the best position possible with Kota as my solar installer/provider. I did my research and met with ample providers big and small. Kota was the right choice for me. They made the transition seamless. Their install work is clean. Everything has gone by the numbers to date. I am beyond relieved. I am thankful for a job well done and would recommend them to whomever is ready to go solar.

I was approached by KOTA rep Isaac Roth in late August of 2022. My wife and I had been talking back and forth about getting solar installed since we purchased our home in 2017, but obviously we were taking our time about it. About a week later we sat down with Isaac and he went over the entire process clearly and concisely and laid out the expected time frame of each step from confirming the projected design all the way to when we could expect to start reaping the benefits of our solar. We opted for a 12 panel design and they were installed in a single day (!) and the work was impeccable. We know this because shortly after install, the Bay Area experienced an insane rainy season and we didn't have a single leak. Also, the panels themselves are sleek and installed in such a way that from the street you can hardly even tell we have them. This isn't a huge deal, but it just shows that KOTA is considerate of form AND function which I personally appreciated. Overall, I can't recommend KOTA enough. Isaac was available every step of the way to answer any questions or concerns we had and checked in on us throughout the process. If you're considering solar but feeling overwhelmed by the prospect, I highly recommend reaching out to KOTA to get a consultation. They handled every step of the process professionally and I hardly had to lift a finger throughout. The whole process was so easy that my only complaint is that I didn't do it sooner.

I am actively trying to recoup losses from KOTA. The crew that put in my solar panels, caused 17,000+ dollars in damage to my property and counting. They broke many roof tiles, and there are large gaps in most all of the stanchions for the panels frame. One was literally 45 degrees in the air. This means that every rain since the install, damaged my underlayment, plywood, insulation, living room ceiling and walls drywall, and paint (yes I had to put out buckets). I have had two solar certified roofing companies inspect their work, and both have given bids that 15,000 dollars of work needs to be performed to completely reinstall the panels, and replace the underlayment because they were not installed correctly / professionally. This cost is likely to rise once the tiles come off and the plywood and insulation are inspected. I have estimates that the interior damage is 2,000 dollars currently. I have contacted the company for 2 months well over a dozen times, spending countless time on hold, and nothing. I was told by their project managers they fired every install crew they had except one for incompetence, and then the entire Bay Area office was fired. I reached out directly to their CEO and Director who promised to fix my roof "with all urgency" but nothing happened except more damage every time it rains for weeks. Moreover, these are just the current issues. My system failed inspection multiple times. The crew failed to show up multiple times during the install. I called them and told them the were planning to install incompatible microinvertors in the plans, and they completely ignored me, delaying the installation for months when they showed up with the ones (I told them) wouldn't work. The company failed to install the panels where we agreed. Their crew installed the cut-off switch in the middle of my wood storage and lied they could not move it. My entire system stopped working last year, and after four months, I had 3,000+ in charges to pay for before they replaced every microinvertor (after trying to claim it was an "act of god" not their absolutely amateur installation). The only good thing about this company is the salesman. KOTA is a dumpster fire, point blank, full stop. If you had an installation done by them in the Bay Area, PLEASE have it inspected. Your roof is likely being damaged every time it rains. The longer you wait, the more damage there will be.

I had my solar system installed by KOTA recently. They checked off every single box: sales rep, installers and installation quality, price, responsiveness, warranties, product and equipment, customer service.. 10/10 for everything!!! I am very happy with everything from beginning to end. The sales rep, Lauren Bouskila, came to my door about a month ago. At first, I was very skeptical because my bill was pretty low. Lauren was able to show me the value of solar and still manage to bring my monthly payments to a price that is less than what I pay for electricity today, and I am getting 2x as much power as I use today, AND they installed a charger for my Tesla that arrived this week. Lauren explained every step of the process to me. She made it to where I didn't even have to lift a finger! Her knowledge of solar and everything she did to understand my needs and make sure my system was tailored exactly to the needs of my house gave me confidence every step of the way. She never came to my house empty handed, always had thoughtful and meaningful gifts with her. The price was also EXCELLENT. It was the best price of all bids I got. I have been impressed with Kota every step of the way. The technicians and installers were also a pleasure to work with. They did my whole installation in half a day and were very hardworking men. I would HIGHLY recommend KOTA Solar and the sales rep Lauren Bouskila to anyone considering solar for their home.

We had a small existing solar system that didn't meet our needs, I was told by another company they couldn't help us due to our roof design. Then I called Rae at KOTA and he assured me they could make it happen. Within a few weeks we had all our questions answered and a great system designed. Rae was there for us the whole time and did a great job following up and letting us know what to expect at each step and in the end, KOTA was able to give us what the other company couldn’t and made it easy. We had a good experience with Kota. They were recommended to us by a few different friends and neighbors. Isaac was our sales rep and he was attentive and communicative throughout. The whole process was pretty fast - I think we started the process October 2022 and panels were up and running (after install, city inspection, etc) by January 2023. Kota positioned the panels to maximize production given a big redwood tree that shades part of our roof. We also talked about the number of panels that would accommodate future electrical needs (e.g., EV charging port, A/C install). We have had a few issues since then, including the panels not connecting to the Enphase app that tracks solar production, and a small roof leak from the panel installation. The Kota team was generally responsive with these issues and sent someone out to fix/repair quite quickly. All issues have resolved and we are happy with the panels and our much lower PGE bills.
