Horrible experience!! Sunrun Solar – What You Need to Know Before You Buy Installing solar panels is a great step toward sustainability, but choosing the right provider is crucial. I want to share my personal experience with Sunrun, which has been disappointing on several fronts. 1. Misleading Expectations About Energy Credits When our system was sized, the sales rep assured us that the credits earned during Arizona’s spring and fall would cover our summer A/C usage. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. We continue to receive electric bills nearly every month, and the credits we do earn are minimal—barely offsetting the following month’s usage. We’re still paying for electricity throughout spring and summer. 2. Costly Service for Warranty Repairs Our system stopped communicating via Wi-Fi, so I called Sunrun for service. I was told that if the issue was covered under warranty, there would be no charge. The technician replaced the Wi-Fi module and confirmed it was a warranty repair. However, Sunrun still charged us over $500 just for the technician’s visit—despite it being a warranty issue. 3. Poor Customer Service I opened a case to dispute the charge and was promised a resolution within 1–3 days. It’s now been three weeks, and despite multiple follow-up calls and detailed messages, I’ve received no response. Every time I speak with someone new, I’m told that no one is authorized to issue a credit. Bottom Line: Please do your research and consider other solar providers before committing. My experience with Sunrun has been frustrating and costly.

By far the most superior solar company in Orange County. They worked directly with the city and with Edison and fought hard to get our panels up in a timely manner.
