SCC Solar Energy

We purchased 44 panels and the services offered by SCC Solar and paid over $50,000 and unfortunately was our WORST financial decision that we've ever made. If I had to do it over again I would never partner with this company again in a thousand years. First the owner of the company, Robert simply does not care. It's mind boggling to me that a customer would email/email/call and he does not get back to you. After long delays the panels were installed wrong producing 30% less than what was agreed. When my first settlement bill arrived and I owed over $1,200 for energy that my panels should have produced, I tied to get a hold of them and they simply would not get back to me. After threatening legal actions, a month later Robert called me and promised that they will rearrange the panels and send me a check a month later... that was a couple months ago and my calls and texts to him again go unanswered. The only other person I've been able to talk with is Patty and she is nice but can't do nothing without her boss. Needless to say I have not received my reimbursement check after being told that it will be next week, then next week, then next week... until last week when they told me I'll have to wait until the beginning of the year. I tried to go over their head but it looks like Robert owns SCC solar with another guy that is not involved... SO here I am stuck having taken a loan for over $50K which i make payments of $500/mo, which was $200 more than my previous electric bill and I'm begging this company to honor their contractual obligations and I am now unsure that they will. I also told them that unless they send me the $$ they owe, I will leave reviews for others to be aware of but unsurprisingly... again they didn't even respond. My next step now is register a complaint with California Public Utilities Commission. This is insane, I've never been in this situation before with any company and this is actually my very first one star review I ever placed on line and I'm doing only to warn others so they don't end up like me.

While the installation of the solar panels went smoothly, I was extremely disappointed in how SCC handled the overall transaction. My payment to SCC was completed on time and in the full amount. About a month after the solar panels were installed, I received a notice from the solar panel distributor, CED, indicating they had still not been paid. I contacted SCC by phone regarding this issue and they informed me this would be taken care of. SCC lied to me. They did not make any payments to CED for the solar panels and CED filed a lien on my house and ultimately filed a lawsuit against me for the money that SCC still owed them. When I notified SCC of this, they still refused to complete this transaction to settle this issue. My only option was to hire an attorney and file a lawsuit against SCC for the for money they owed to CED. The day after this lawsuit was filed, SCC decided to finally make the payment to CED. Overall I was very disappointed by this and would NOT recommend SCC to anyone looking to have solar panels installed.

My initial experience with SCC Solar was very positive, everything from the contract to the installation. During the first year, they quickly handled any questions or concerns. However, after the first year, the system produced significantly less than expected and I received a hefty electric bill. I spoke briefly with Robert in March of this year, and he assured me they would do an analysis and issue a payment to cover lost production, and remedy the situation by adding additional panels if needed. It is now August, and I have left no less than 20 messages, and cannot get a call back from Robert, or anyone in the company. The situation has not been resolved, the system is still under performing, I am out the money paid to the electric company and I am beginning to think it never will be resolved..... needless to say, I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Stay away, Stay away from this company. I am suffering and don't want any one to suggest so please stay away. I can not afford losing$16000 and a lot of people can not Judy like me, that's why I am saying stay away. This is the worst company you can find. They installed the panels but they don't work. I called many times but no one has returned my calls or emails. The agent who made the contract with me has disconnected his cell phone. Can you believe this? Called the bank financing the project and filled complain there too. Waiting to see what other steps I have to take. I think it's gonna end up in court.

NO GO..NO GO........NO STARS Negative stars for this company. If you can even call it a company. They should not be in business. The only good reviews are from employees and or friends. That Paul guy was my salesman (what a coincidence). Lies, lots of lies....Fully funded by Enerbank without completing the work and now disappeared. The roof was subbed out to a roofing company and not paid. I found that out after the posted lien on my property. The bond has been taken and the license suspended and yet he has a new bond and license is back on so he can rip of more people. Dishonest Crook. Don't take a chance with Useless Clown! I didn't even get a chance for them to repair my rain gutters that they smashed with their ladders.

Don't do business with this company, let me be very clear do not do business with this company if you want to save yourself a headache, they are very irresponsible and they don't care about you, they only care about your money. They never finish my installation 100% and to top it off they forfeited my signature to get the bank who was lending the money so they can get paid. If they say I'm lying well well it on. I have all the documents to prove it. When tried to contact the company and the owner, they would never return phone calls and would never answer, Neve got everything they promise in the contract and became of my busy life I never had the chance to put a lawsuit on them. My inverter burned out and they are nowhere to be found,. Save your money and go with a different company, my installation cost me over $22,000 dollars for 26 solar panels but never in my life would I recommend this people to any family member. Neve would I do business with them ever again. Good luck and God bless.

What a mess, these guys claim to be "Roofing experts" yet my roof never leaked in any way before using scc solar and after they left... well you can guess it I'm sure... Calling them to talk about it you get placed on hold for what feels to be an eternity getting bounced from person to person just to get a voicemail service of someone who of course never returns your calls. I contacted them multiple times and I am yet to get response on the issue. I got a quote from a roofing company for $2200. to replace to shingles the cut wrong and seal it propperly. The roofer said its not the first problem he saw from this solar company. Thats not all, the battery back up they installed was supposed to run our home for an entire day but when we tested the system with our fridge, 2 tv's and ceiling fan it quit on us in less than 4 hours so for an extra 10k I dont feel 4 hours is worth it in a emergency situation. Now onto the pannels, they must have sold us to little of a system hoping that the lower price would rope us in because our energy bill is still over $50. a month. I would much rather just have a roof that doesnt leak and back to my old $120 a month electric bill. BUYER BEWARE
