Xcel energy just came out without any notification and removed part of a huge tree away from the powerlines. I live on the road, they have left much of the tree standing, and it looks awful. They also have left all the debris, including huge stumps in the yard. We were never notified of this, we are elderly and on a limited budget. Expecting homeowners to remove this amount of debris and leave them with an unsightly tree standing, is really rotten. I have faithfully paid my utilities for 40 years living in this house, never once missing a payment. This is not a just way to treat your customers. Update I am happy to report after we made several phone calls to the county the debris was finally removed.

Xcel Energy embodies everything that’s rotten about corporate monopolies. What should be a necessity for customers to power our homes, instead siphons off our hard-earned money while treating us like disposable revenue streams. Families are choosing between groceries and keeping the lights on. But their CEO pocketing a payday in nearly $13 million last year. Meanwhile, customers are hung out to dry. Customer service means endless holds, scripted call-center responses, and a persistent refusal to take accountability. They hide behind policies when called out. This is corporate greed made tangible. People can’t ignore bills because options are limited, and yet executives get fatter. It’s the 1% ganging up on everyone else, and this behavior is a disgrace. Xcel Energy you’ve turned a public utility into a cash machine for executives. Shame on you!

Worst company on earth, absolute evil incarnate. Every year if it so much as rains a little my power is out for days at a time. They take their sweet time to "fix" it, though the power goes out again every storm. I don’t know why I pay the bills if they dont bother to fix or repair the infrastructure. They’re the only option for electricity which should be illegal, we have no choice but to use their god awful service because they’ve made a monopoly for themselves.

Dug up my entire front yard and side yard to replace cables/wires. Drove a compact excavator all over my yard, well past any easement lines. Rutted up my yard and killed a bunch of grass. They came to fill in the holes by dumping gravel, instead of the black dirt/top soil that they dug up. Didn’t bother to make sure any of the holes were properly filled. Had a storm and left huge washed out holes with exposed pipes that I ended up filling in myself for safety reasons. Covered and compacted two of my sprinkler heads that are most likely cracked due to the mini excavator. Week and a half go by, I call to make sure we were on a restoration list, we weren’t on a list so the "nice" operator put me on the list. 3 weeks go by my wife calls again and turns out we were never put on any list for restoration. So customer service lied to me. My neighbors yards are worse in some areas where they left signs for weeks on end killing all of the grass. Xcel has no regard for the communities they service we are all just a pay check. My front yard will take hundreds of dollars to bring back to the condition it was in before they came.

Never understood the fuss about why excel is so bad until recently when we tried to do an overhead to underground conversion. They surveyed our yard without setting up a time to meet with us to discuss. Then they came up with every reason in the book not to do the conversion after we paid an electrician to redo our entire setup. All the while they refused to come out to the site and explain what remedies we needed to make to meet their stipulations. When discussing with our electrician they told use this has only happened 1 other time and it was with the builder working for excel Eunice Mukete. Our electrician basically told us that excel no longer makes a profit for overhead to underground conversions and that they just didn’t want to do the work. Don’t trust excel.

I need to file a complaint against Xcel energy for shaming my mother-in-law for her monthly usage emails and questioning her on higher energy usage days during the summer months. She should not be monitored and put her heart health at risk for not having her home thermostat above 85 degrees in the summer months to make your company awards her with congratulations emails. Your company has caused additional frustration for her family members. Therefore, we are treating all of your company emails as scam for my mother-in-law safety.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Constant outages. No credit for lost power. They sent me a statement about my request for a credit that requires several steps to access. They're intentionally brushing off complaints at this point. Is this really what we're stuck with?
