West Michigan Hindu Temple

I visited this temple with my class from Kuyoer College and for some reason, it felt alot like "home" to me. My mother is a Thai Buddhist, so I grew up visiting Thai Buddhist temples. Now, I am a Catechumen in the Orthodox Church. Nevertheless, when I visited this temple, it felt nostalgic. I understand Buddhism comes from Hinduism, but the Buddhist temple near me here did not feel as nostalgic as this Hindu temple. It was an interesting experience. When we came, the people who gave us introductions and tours were also very friendly and welcoming, and we got to see Hinduism in practice. I even held a little of a correspondence with somebody from the temple on some linguistic things (between Thai and Sanskrit). I did not come to this temple with a heart wanting to judge, but came with a heart wanting to learn. Come with an open heart to at least learn and observe.

Really a marvelous place. Events are thoroughly organized. Definitely recommend going at least once.

Lovely temple with both South Indian as well as North Indian style idols installed by the efforts of the community. Beautiful idols, committed priests and great volunteers, rituals are performed for most deities and holy days diligently, the 3 day Annual festival was great to experience. Thank you for striving to fulfill the spiritual needs of the local Hindu community.
