Southside Moving and Storage

These are just some of the issues. I called in advance to let the company know I only needed one truck, but two were sent over. I had 4 men working at my home, yet nothing was getting done. Going down my stairs they wedged my headboard in the stairwell. All four people stood around for an hour discuss what should be done. Meanwhile I was trapped upstairs, I had an important appointment that I nearly missed. When I returned from my appointment, two of the men were lounging in the cab of the truck, playing on their phones. I was gone for hours, my husband stayed back at the house, nothing had been done. I called the office several times to let them know what was happening, additionally I sent emails. The guys had been trying to take apart a desk and bed and didn’t have the proper equipment/knowledge to do it. Finally after hours wasted they called a fifth person, the other man arrived and was able to disassemble the furniture within minutes. The clock was supposed to be stop and be restarted once we arrived at the new home. Once at the new home they quickly unloaded the trucks, but had problems with the beds again. Both beds were badly damaged and pieces are missing from one. At all times during reconstruction of my beds at least one person sat around. They left without putting my furniture together and promised to come back later on their own time. I literally paid more then the bed was worth for it to be taken apart and put together. I received a call for my final bill with some decent discounts, which I paid and the invoice was sent to my email. Two days later I was charged again the final payment. The house I moved out of was damaged, two beds were damaged and one bed is missing pieces, they tried to use my white couch cushions in between boxes to level out item, I had to ask several times to have them wrap up my couches, they stood around and argued and bickered. I can go on, and on. I was going to let everything go and move on and concentrate on getting settled into my new home, until the second charge came in on Wednesday. I haven’t even signed the final paperwork because the desk isn’t properly put together and pieces are missing. I should also mention pieces are missing from two bookshelves!

We had Antwon & Marcus from Southside moving & storage Norfolk do our move and they were wonderful, they went above and beyond with our move. They was very professional and moved fast nothing was damaged and was placed and put together properly. Communicating with management was also great. I would be using them for all my moves in the future. Thank you fellas for a great moving experience.

After a truly awful experience moving from San Francisco, our short distance move (including a storage unit stop) in Virginia Beach with Southside Moving was a breath of fresh air! Tony and Daijon both had a great work ethic (and musical tastes), were exceptionally friendly and efficient, made quick work of all our heavy **** and came in under budget! Now that we are officially Virginians, we will definitely be calling them next time we’re moving. Small business all the way! (We were burned by Ace/Atlas in SF)

Spoke to a woman on the phone, asked questions about the estimate that was sent to me. She was laughing at my questions and hung up on me when I asked if I can get what she is saying in writing. Rude, unprofessional company. They are charging more than what they are saying verbally.

A special shout out to Dante and Lionel.....they were absolutely amazing.....on time, prepared for the move, great attitudes, and hard working. They made this move (as far as moving can be...lol!) a very pleasant experience. I had recently lost a member of my family....Dante and Lionel made this move absolutely stress free for me, and I will always be so very grateful! Thank you Dante and Lionel for a great, professional and stress free moving experience.....if I ever move again, I will definitely use Southside Moving and will ask for Dante and Lionel.

Our move was exceptional Mr. Eric, Eric Jr. and Sir moved our office today and the move was absolutely outstanding and they did an amazing job. They were patient, customer focused, mindful of ensuring there was no damage, careful and friendly. I have never experienced such a smooth corporate office move ever. Would definitely recommend!

This company is top notch. I could not have asked for anything more. Getting the estimate was fast and easy, communications were excellent and the team of movers we had were kind, courteous, and very concerned about my belongings, and truly went above and beyond for us. To top it off, the price was much less than the others I called. No need to look any further, these guys are the right ones for the job!
