Wow, fully stocked with awesome finds. I called beforehand to ask if they had an item I needed, and they actually answered the phone, followed the prompt, put me on hold, and came back confirming they had it. The Christmas and balloon selection is amazing! For a smaller store, the layout is on point clean, organized, and surprisingly better stocked than our Michaels stores in Orlando, Florida. If you’re in the area, this location is absolutely worth the stop!

I am a long time customer of Michaels and of this particular Michaels, through Covid and the challenging economy. I have shopped on Michaels on the east coast and the west coast. This Michael's is home. What makes this Michaels extra special is the current manager- Candace. I hope store management knows the jewel they have in Candace. Employees are a challenge for all retailers. Candace goes above and beyond working to make sure the store runs smoothly to maintain an excellent customer experience, which Candace does. I took enough pics to show how well the store lays out on the same level, no downstairs. Ample parking outside. The store is located in the Potomac Yards shopping center. There are no Customer bathrooms on site. Blame customers who treated the bathrooms badly. There are bathrooms nearby at Homegoods next door, Amazon Fresh, and TJ Maxx or Starbucks across the parking lot. There are two Price Check stations midway store right, store left. There is an Aarons Framing in the store and, best of all, a Final Clearance aisle. Clearance sites are staged throughout the store, well marked. The Aisles are easily navigatable, very ADA friendly. Check out is Self Check Out. Employees are nearby if help is needed. Employees are wonderful, helpful, sweet- a great place to work. I hear they can always use more.... Michaels has an App available. I highly highly recommend signing up for Michaels Rewards membership. You earn points with each purchase. Points add up to increments of $5. Sort nice to be acknowledged for being a loyal customer. it’s always fun to have another black/brown person profile you i came in to get some clearance artificial flowers. i had seen this worker when i was going to the miniatures, didn’t think much of it. yet i start walking to the self checkout as theyre walking away (they had been behind the counter). mind you- another employee, NOT black or brown, was up there and had no desire to put me under surveillance. suddenly they look at me, come behind me, and start looking at me while "fixing" the display diagonal of me. continued to stop, look at me, almost walk away, then come up near me at the counter (didn’t grab anything, didn’t put anything down). pretends to fiddle with the same fixture. they stop pretending to fix things and and just stand behind me while i check out. finally i turned around and asked if they follow all of their customers, or just the black ones? another customer came up (not black or brown, not the other person in the pic) and they didn’t go stand behind them once. how are you brown and racist in 2025 majority of america literally hates you??? maybe they aren’t socially aware and learned racism at home???? who knows. i’ll stick to shopping at the chevy chase and silver spring location <3

The people in the customs framing department are amazing. Super friendly and helpful and just good at what they do. My frustration is that no one ever answer the phone at this Michaels location in general. Have a quick question? Good luck getting someone to pick up the phone. When they do, you’ll be disconnected. Infuriating and a waste of time.

Their frequent sales and coupons make it even more exciting to stock up on your favorites. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help with project ideas or recommendations.

Impossible to get this location to pick up the phone. I called many times within store hours. I chose this location as the ups access point since it is less than a mile from my home. The package arrived at 12:59 pm but when I arrived at 8:10 pm, no one could find it! 2 people searched all over and no luck. Perhaps the UPS driver never came, but it says that the package was signed for by someone named "Smith". I have filed a claim with the sender. Not sure if this is the store’s fault or UPS’ fault, but I am leaving a poor review because no one picked up the phone when I tried to call and verify if anyone named "smith" works there.

I normally don't have a problem with Michael's; whether it's in person or placing an order. This is my second time placing an order and this time I'm slightly disappointed. Some of the yarn is in total disarray but the icing on the cake is they didn't send a color/brand that I ordered. I ordered Caron Blossom Cake Denim Daze. I received Caron Cotton Cake Frozen Yogurt. I guess I'll have to shop in store from now on.
