Shleppers Moving & Storage

I had to do my work to find my movers. I interviewed several companies and wouldn't settle until I felt confident I'd found the best one out there. I had someone who kept trying to steal my business from this company and compete (another reputable company, and it wasn't Piece of Cake .. just don't bother with them .. they are HORRIBLE). I hired Shleppers to pack and move. N.B.: when you hire a company to pack you, you still have to do a ton of work to organize, discard and get stuff ready so the packers keep your stuff together .. in order. I kept returning to communicate with my rep, Gavin Blainey, and he was always responsive and fair. When I shared how much packing I'd done on my own, he knocked off a couple hundred bucks for me. The men on this job, Luis (team leader), Eduardo (who was like a second team leader), Jésus and Pedro (both fantastic and easy going and flexible), were competent, kind, patient, willing to do what I asked of them; and Luis was brilliant in suggesting we save time by loading up the truck on packing day. If you hire this company, ask for these guys! They figured out how to get a large piece out of my house (they removed the door frame!). When they arrived at my new residence, so as not to damage beautiful blue spruce trees, them held up branches so the trees wouldn't be damaged. I think it was either Pedro or Jésus who actually stood on the rear of the truck as it backed up and held a rake up to the branches so they wouldn't be damaged. So far (I haven't unpacked everything), but everything is in perfect condition, carefully wrapped. My fragile items, large antique furniture and delicate tables arrived perfectly and were set up by the men. I cannot thank Luis, Eduardo, Jésus and Pedro enough for making the difficult task of pulling up my personal roots and replanting them as seamless as possible. Gavin orchestrated the event with finesse. Thank you, gracias, and I wish anyone who is moving the very best of luck. Do your homework, get your estimates and don't be afraid to bargain. I chose Shleppers (what happened to the "c" in Schleppers - too ethnic?), and I am so down with my choice. HIGHLY recommended.

The fellas at Shleppers were fantastic! They hustled like crazy and made a stressful morning as smooth as it could possibly. Total pros, they took care of the usual moving problems (um, will this couch actually fit in the elevator?) with total chill. I'd hire them again in a minute, and if you're considering a move, definitely give them a try. High-five to Rudolpho and the guys.

Worst ever. Shleppers was highly recommended by a close friend so we chose them for our move from NY to Miami. Packing was poor and many boxes came back smashed or in bad shape. They broke the leg of a dresser, the drawers of the buffet, and others. They said to be experts managing the baby grand, but they did a lot mistakes in its move and at the end it felt on one side (lucky it didn’t break or hurt someone). Now I have to pay someone to take a look at it and fix all the mismanagement of its parts. Communications were an issue, they had a wrong email address (we don’t know where it came from) so they never contacted us for an ETA and things arrived on a different day as originally planned (building management had a move on that same day). No one contacted us after to give them a feedback so I decided to give them this review.

We had the best experience working with Schleppers this past week as we moved from NY to CT. From the first point of contact, to working with Derek to put together an accurate quote for the amount of stuff we have, to the two days of packing and moving, it was the best, least stressful move we’ve ever done! The pricing was very transparent and Derek was incredibly helpful in breaking it all down for me, and answering any questions I had. Jose’s team of movers were efficient, fast, professional, and incredibly careful with our things. When our sofa wasn’t fitting into our living room, they tried multiple different ways, all while not even getting a single mark on our white sofa. I didn’t have to lift a finger, Schleppers handled everything- and as a new mom to a 7 month old, that meant the world to me! We will definitely be using Schleppers again in the future!

Second move with Shleppers, both times very pleased with the service I received. Few years ago my wife and I moved from florida to NY. Shleppers made the move as painless as possible with excellent attention to detail and great communication. This time around we moved locally and had Shleppers pack for us. They were able to pack up all our stuff in one morning and we were all set in our new place by the afternoon. Was very affordable and they took great care of our things. I would use them again if needed without hesitation.

I had a great experience with Schleppers. Fran helped me through multiple date changes while staying competitive and removing stress from a stressful few closing cancellations. I didn’t have to worry about this part because she always communicated in a way that showed I was taken care of. Then, on the day of the move, I had some great people who did a great job. Because of them, my day was much less stressful, and it felt really good to be fully moved in at the end of the day

Shleppers is fantastic! My family and I have used them for six moves. Each time the move team was thoughtful, had great attitudes, and were extremely professional. In addition for the last two moves, I worked with an amazing relocation specialist, Fran. I highly recommend Shleppers. If you are looking for reasonable prices, great customer service, and people focused on making your move as stress free as possible, you’ve got to use Shleppers!!
