Northern Tool + Equipment

Visited Northern Tool over the Weekend. First on the website, then Curbside Pickup and inside the store previously. I wanted to fully experience the store/location before making this review. Northern Tool is located at 4315 Clinton Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37912. The Website functioned mostly like every other website on the planet. The ordering process was heavy. Meaning is was not easy or quick. Curbside pickup. Well, this was not a good or quick experience at all. Let me explain. I went to the Website and made an order early in the morning. Got an email that said "Please wait before heading to the store. You'll get another email when your order is ready to pick up." I got that email around 9:30 am. I was waiting for the 2nd email almost all day. By 3:00 pm, I was tired of waiting, I called the Location and from the moment I called until someone answered it, it was 20 minutes. I was told that my order had been ready to pick up sense mid-morning. Then he told me that they closed at 6pm. I left then to go pick up the order. Pulled into the Parking Lot, Went to Curbside Parking which is NOT clearly marked. As in 2 little signs near the Handicap parking. I parked and called the Curbside pickup number; after hitting send on my phone, it immediately went to hold music. I was listening to hold music for 20 minutes until I got feed up, hung up and called back only to side on hold for another 20 minutes. This time just when I thought someone answered, I got hung up on. I am not sitting in their parking lot for +40 minutes. I called back again, I did not use option 3 times, it took 5 minutes. I gave my name and order number, they said they would be out in the next 5 minutes. But 20 minutes later, I called back again, the guy who answered said he is bringing my order right out and he did. He apologized for it taking so long, he said he radioed someone from the 1st time he and I talked, then said they must have ignored the radio call. I have been to the store previously, about 2-3 weeks ago, to look around at the products and prices. The Pricing was not too bad; they are comparable to other places like Harbor Freight. The in-store customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Their store is clean, plenty of parking including Handicap spaces, Wheelchair accessible as well. I took my eGO lawn mower there for repairs. They are the only ones in Knoxville who repair eGO equipment. The service staff was very friendly and helpful with my warranty repair. I will certainly use them again for any future needs.

Great experience with this first time online order. No store in my county, so ordering online is great. Smooth process.

Our friend bought 2 heavy duty steel grills 2 months ago for two properties at a great price. But due to scheduling, today was the first time she could get here. No worries! Staff is excellent - friendly and helpful. Lots of great stuff for the handyman and the professional contractor. We love our local store in Palm Harbor, and this one is pretty nice, too.

They are very nice and helpful at this location. The have lots of inventory in stock and reasonable prices. The shelves are very well organized and things are easy to find. We would definitely shop here again and will recommend this location to others.

This is a great store to shop at. Team Members are always friendly and very knowledgeable. Prices are competitive and store is clean and organized.
