The traffic signal for people wanting to turn left onto W Reynolds Dr from Ruccio Way is absolutely insane. People do not have an hour to just sit and pick their nose or read War and Peace on their way to work in the morning. I'm sorry, but why did you design it this way, totally unresponsive to a poor sap who happens to make the mistake of getting into that left hand turn lane with the traffic light arrow and camera smiling back at him? Just incredible.
LFUCG is absolutely a disgrace for people living in Lexington. They claim that I have had no service at my property since September. It is now March. Today they came and removed my meter without notice. I am home with pneumonia and do not have any water. I’ve lived at this residence for 30 years. I’ve never been without water. After going back-and-forth for 6 1/2 hours between the water company and the city both blaming each other. I now have to go three business days without water due to that’s how long it takes them to analyze the situation. This is absolutely unacceptable. That citizens of this town have to deal with this. And with no help even to be considered an emergency for a severe illness. Shame on our mayor for letting this happen to our citizens.
Need to change what it says on there site. They only help you with rental assistance if your place is being condemned. They won't help if your close to or are facing eviction.
1 star because my time coming up in the 90s in Lexington, was grand. I looked forward every year to attending Micro City Government functions. We or I...had the best time. Yes, there was fights...but who doesn't fight. I consider it excercise. We had food, entertainment, booths, got to get dressed up....and we ran from one end of the park or rink to work off the food and energy (fun). Therefore, once we got back home we be tired and have worked off slot of steam and frustration...then back to the books. So the fights wasn't bad. This program was one highlight of my teenage years. Thank you to all who had something to do with it.
This is regarding LexServ trash pick up. I have lived in 5 different cities and have never experienced a trash pick up service that is so unreliable. Lexington government services, at times makes you feel like you're living in a poor country (compared to other places we've lived). Our trash day is on Thursday, yet we'll see them come pick up the garbage anywhere from Thursday at 7 am to Friday afternoon. They seem to work on their own schedule and pick it up at their own convenience. Although this is admittedly minor, more often than not when they are done taking the garbage, we will find the herbie lying on its side in the street or sidewalk blocking traffic. Service was canceled last week, due to a storm and they still have not come to pick up the trash this week (it is the following Thursday). Our herbie literally is overflowing and has trash bags sitting next to it. Ridiculous and unacceptable.
I think it's ironic and sad that over a year has passed since dealing with covid. Most people like my family never had the luxury to stop working. Those who had to, have resumed long time ago. However the government agencies are still not opened. The one person left to answer a buzzer in the building doesn't have answers to any questions, we're just directed to call and when we do so the experience is very similar. It's just disappointing.
This is the reason I often cheat on taxes and fees whenever possible. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE non-existent service, the LAZIEST, mentally challenged employees anywhere! Most often they will claim their systems are down, try to reschedule your appts, close early any chance they get without notice, leave the phone off the hook or leave you on an extended hold, and flat out deny you service. Or just try to pass the buck to somebody else. This is extremely upsetting and saddening, I often find myself pondering the idea of just screwing everybody I come across in my field as well. I urge anyone who has the chance to screw over these employees and let them feel it! On the positive side, I have saved A LOT of $$$ figuring out ways to keep it out of the hands of these leeches. Think about it, and you can too! I cut back my eating out, cut back at the gas pump, entertainment, buy online, etc., etc. EASY! Have FUN! 😉
