Small site but pretty and present our past naval related industrial and military power. Strongly recommend to visit this site.
I came here for a walk and to take photos and it was so peaceful and beautiful. I enjoyed the view and seeing the fleets. There was ample parking and no one around so I was able to have such an enjoyable walk and captured many great photos of the Navy Yard
They did a great job with this space and there’s lots of room to walk and discover little niches like the flooded building with schools of koi swimming about, the old aircraft carrier, and the public art. Also great for dog owners!
Beautiful parks and green spaces. Quiet on weekends and easy to park. Loved the hammocks at the central green!
I was surprised at how accessible to the public most of the old Navy Yard is. You can take pictures of the mothballed ships in the back channel, as well as the aircraft carrier USS John F Kennedy (CV-67) moored along the Delaware River. A lot of the base along the river has been rehabilitated and is now a fantastic place to go for a walk or ride a bike.
They have done a very nice job of converting this Navy facility into a bustling office complex. Lots of good companies are based out of here. Very nice setup to go out for a walk in the middle of the work day.
So much to see, really glad we went there is even a place to grab some food while you see awesome ships
