I contacted Paramount Heating & Air due to my outside air conditioning compressor fan turning very slow. Scheduling was easy. The technician, Austin came on Friday, September 5th. Austin was polite. Austin took about 10 minutes, listened to the unit and used a long screwdriver to push the fan blades faster. Austin said the unit needed a new capacitor & fan motor. Austin told me it shouldn't be to bad as far as the cost. I paid $69 for the diagnosis and estimate. Austin said I should have the estimate by the end of the day. Austin told me if I approved the estimate, they could fix the unit Monday or Tuesday. I did not hear from anyone on Friday. I called just before 5pm to check the status. I left a message with their answering service (every time I called except once it was only an answering service). I was told someone would call me back soon. I never heard anything but understood it was Friday late afternoon. No return phone call on Monday. I did get a text from Lindsey. The text said she would have Austin send me the estimate. Never got anything. I called and left messages several times over the next few days. No response. I called Ross Heating & Air Conditioning and scheduled to have them come out on Friday, September 12th. I finally got an email with an estimate for $1,672 to replace the capacitor and fan motor Wednesday evening. No phone call, no apology for the delay in the email, just the estimate. Ross Heating & Air came on Friday, September 12th. The technician was very professional. The technician spent about a 1/2 hour doing testing. The technician said the capacitor was bad. The technician had the part on his truck and fixed it immediately. I then told the technician that another company (Paramount) said I needed a fan motor also. The technician said the fan motor was fine, it just was not getting enough power due to the faulty capacitor. I paid $443 out the door including the diagnostic fee. I told the technician that Paramount wanted to charge me $1,672 for the capacitor and fan motor. The technician said a fan motor should be no more than about $600 which with the capacitor should have been around $1,000, not $1,672. Not only did Paramount Heating & Air Conditioning indicate that a part (fan motor) was faulty when it was not, they were going to grossly overcharge me for their estimated work. If they had not been so unresponsive I may have paid them the $1,672 ($1,229 more than I needed to) as I would have just assumed this was the usual price and parts needed. This is despicable. I called Paramount. Spencer, the manager actually answered the phone. I explained the situation to Spencer and my serious concerns with the gross overcharge and indicating a part needed replaced that did not. I explained the unresponsive service for which I had paid $69 for an estimate which I would have expected to be timely. Spencer said they had an employee out of the office. I explained to Spencer that a short phone call and apology for the delay would have gone along way. Spencer said that if the capacitor goes bad they usually just replace the fan motor because it will probably go out eventually. I explained to Spencer that Austin said it was bad and just replacing parts "just in-case" was not acceptable. Spencer said they try to keep customers happy and not having to call them back so they replace anything that may fail. I explained to Spencer that even if the fan motor was bad the estimate was grossly inflated. Spencer said Austin probably just put a price on it because they were so backed up and needed to get the estimates out. I told him this stunt could have unnecessarily cost me about $1,229. He said he would look into it more and call me back with an explanation. I told him I wanted my $69 diagnostic fee refunded as it was a faulty diagnosis. Spencer did do this. Spencer nor anyone from the company ever called me back. I would NEVER use this company again. I chose them due to their excellent reviews. I have noticed some very recent poor ones. There is NO EXCUSE for what happened.
I was super impressed with Spencer and what he was able to do in repairing my AC!! It works and we are so happy, I think I will sign up for the annual maintenance as well. FYI, a previous HVAC company could not do the repairs he did and they wanted me just to replace the entire AC unit for $$$. This was so much better!
Spencer is a wealth of knowledge. You can tell he’s passionate about taking care of his clients and providing honest recommendations. If you’re looking for a trustworthy professional and neighbor, Paramount Heating and Air is your go to.
What an outstanding and refreshing service experience! There should be a Six Star rating available for the expertise and service Spencer Keife (Paramount Heating & Air) provides. After having our HVAC system installed by RHP 14 years ago, naturally they were the first I called on a Saturday when our furnace decided to stop working. Since I hadn’t subscribed to their annual maintenance I was asked to call back on Monday for an appointment. On Monday I called and was offered a visit by the end of the week! This wis when I fortunately found Paramount Heating & Air. Spencer immediately replied, offered easy scheduling options, and came out the same day. He was able to expertly diagnose our issue, get us up and running while we are waiting on replacement parts. Paramount should be everyone’s first call if you need any new system and/or existing systems fixed. A+++ This is our second experience using Paramount Heating & Air. To complete an emergency repair. My rating of this company just keeps increasing and I wish I could give 6 stars. Several months ago our Heating unit went out and Paramount did an outstanding job in repairing this fast and efficient. This time, we were in somewhat of an emergency condition (for us) as the thermometer was surpassing 100° and suddenly there was no more cool air. Although it was during the July 4th. Holiday, I decided to call for service and get on the schedule. To somewhat of a surprise to me, I got a live person who answered the phone and took down all the details of our issue. Within several hours (on the holiday) I received a call from Spencer Keife who took down all the information I could provide, and he was kind enough to squeeze me in to a fully booked day for the following day (Friday the 5th. of July). Paramount texted me at 11:03 am to let me know Spencer was on route to our location. Shortly thereafter Spencer arrived, assessed the problem and had our failed Capacitor replaced and the AC up and running within 10 minutes. Once a gain a super pleasant experience, quick and efficient work at a very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend Paramount Heating & Air to anyone in the need for repair or replacement units! A+++
When I was shopping for a home, Spencer Keife from Paramount came out and conducted a furnace inspection, recommended that the furnace be replaced, and stated that it would cost $4,000-$5,000. After purchasing the home another employee from Paramount came to inspect the furnace on 08/26 and provide an estimate to replace it. As of 09/05 I have not received an estimate or even a call back from Paramount. I called another company who is quoting me $6,300 to replace the furnace and even stated "there is no way this could be done for $5,000." Apparently, Paramount does not need and/or want your business and will provide false estimates. Call one of their competitors instead
Spencer, Austin and Ryan were very professional & efficient during the installation of my two mini splits. Unfortunately there was an issue with the compressor and the first hot day I had no air conditioning which is the only reason why I purchased this system. Spencer is currently dealing with the warranty run around from the dealer and has promised to purchase a compressor on his dime so I can have cool air ( which displays an above and beyond customer service attitude ). In addition he's providing me with two portable air conditioners so I don't have to deal with the triple digit forecast this weekend. I look forward to a resolution and how many companies do you know would provide this kind of service? Just wanted to add an update. The new compressor was installed last week and I am now living in air conditioned comfort. So if you want a company that stands on their word call them because I sure will. In today's world it is refreshing to run into a company that stands behind their work.
Spencer and his 2 helpers did a complete rehaul of my 30 year old furnace and replaced with a new heat pump to add in A/C as well. It has been 3 months and everything works great, and for the fairest pricing of my 5 quotes!
