Jason Head was very pleasant and informative. He he gave me pricing on a couple of issues. He was not pushy and I appreciated that. He set up an appointment with another rep. To discuss new furnace pricing. My current furnace is 18 years old, so it is probably a good time for replacement. Wish me luck, Nancy Covey
Well... I did an online request to see if they could install a whole house water filter because the water line was too far away from the wall and needed some more copper work then I felt comfortable doing. I had the filter and all the fitting already. They got back with me quickly and were able to come out the following morning. That's good if someone has an emergency or pressing issue. After he came my fiance called and said it will cost over 600 dollars to put in a single water filter. I was shocked then he told me they have a flat rate starting at 500$ an hour. Plus a couple fittings they said they need for another 100$. I politely declined, then he said that will be 100$ for us to come look at it..... It was never mentioned through the texts, nor verbally. But thankfully he said he'd waive that..... 100$ to come look at it? 500 plus dollar flat fee for labor?.... I decided to do it myself and it worked fine with what I got.... Get multiple estimates before going with them, and make dang sure if there's a charge or not for them to come look at it to see if they can do it!
Contacted business regarding my bathroom sink and bath tub being clogged. I was given an appointment window from 10-4 on the scheduled day of service. I received a call at 4:44 pm notifying me the tech was still at his other job and they would need to reschedule my appointment until Monday. Had they called prior to 4pm. I may have been able to contact another company. I expressed my feelings regarding the situation and was told someone would be out to assist. I received a telephone call at 5:15 notifying me of the bill being double (almost $200) because of the after hours fee. I feel as if this incident was terrible customer service.
Absolutely do not trust this business. I was one of their "members". They were supposed to check my AC in spring, I took the day off work, they never showed and called the next day saying "Hey sorry we didn't get around to it we are coming today". I had to work and couldn't do that. They were supposed to call and reschedule and didn't. Then, in fall, they called again to do a furnace inspection, condemned my furnace, then tried to convince me I needed a new AC unit. I had them fix the AC two years ago and the unit is from 2012. I told them I didn't want or need an AC unit but they quoted me for one anyway. They were going to charge $10,060 for just the furnace or $15,260 for the AC and furnace. This was with their "member discount" and they said I had to say yes right away or I'd lose access to an additional discount from their supplier. It was pathetic and obvious that they were trying to scam me. I told them I don't make snap decisions when spending $10,000-$15,000 and got another quote. They assured me I was getting a great deal and said other companies wouldn't be able to come out before winter (this was early October). Henson Robinson came the next week and said the furnace shouldn't have been condemned, but it was due to be replaced (it was from 1989 so I couldn't really argue with them on that). Henson Robinson quoted me at $4,560 and refused to provide a quote on the AC because there was absolutely nothing wrong with it and they felt unethical even providing a quote. They replaced it the next week, in and out with zero issue, very polite and courteous employees, less than half the cost. I called to cancel my membership with Mike Williams. I was told by their employee Liz that only one person, Lewis, could do that and he would call me back. A week later, no phone call. The next week I called back. I was told the same thing. I told them I would see them in Court of Claims if I'm charged again. They still have not called me back. Clearly the "membership" is a ploy to try to sell people new furnaces/AC units they don't need. They won't even let people cancel their memberships without trying to milk them for one last month. I checked around and this appears to be the common experience with people who use Mike Williams. I highly recommend avoiding doing business with this company. Clearly their inspectors are incentivized to act like pushy salesmen by creating immediacy and trying to scare people into making snap purchases before gouging them by charging 2-3 times what other companies are charging. Avoid, avoid, avoid this company.
I’ve had this heating system for almost a year and it has given me some trouble. That’s the negative side of this. The positive side is that Mike Williams has a great staff that is very professional. Today’s Tech is Brandon Harney. He seems to have solved a complex issue that both of my air handlers had. I appreciate the methodical manner in which he handled this issue.
My service technician was Brett Davis and he was great! Super friendly, informative and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with Brett in my home and he ensured I was well apprised of all the concerns and issues with my AC unit. He’s seems very honest and forthcoming. He worked really hard to find a solution for my particular problems.
Kirk was very personable and handy. He explained all the repairs to me, understood my limited budget, and presented my options clearly. I was very impressed by the speed of service. My 2 year old was very interested in the work truck and entire project. Kirk took the time to show my son some tools and explain the process to us both. He even gave me detailed Father’s Day bike advice when I asked for it. Would definitely trust Mike Willems company for our future needs.
